Remote Support FAQ

Remote support is a convenient option for many Windows-based computer problems. Here are some of the most common questions customers have before getting started.

What is remote support?

Remote support allows me to securely connect to your Windows computer over the internet so I can help troubleshoot software, settings, email, printer, and general Windows issues without being physically present.

What kinds of problems can be fixed remotely?

Many software and setup problems can be handled remotely, including email issues, Windows troubleshooting, printer setup, browser problems, and general software configuration.

What problems usually cannot be fixed remotely?

Hardware failures, broken screens, systems that will not power on, internal repair work, and other physical component problems usually need in-person diagnosis or repair.

Is remote support safe?

Remote support is safest when you are working directly with someone you trust and you understand what is being done. I only recommend trusted remote access methods and keep the process straightforward.

Do I need to be at the computer?

Yes, at least to get started. You will usually need to open the support tool, approve the connection, and be available in case I need you to confirm something during the session.

What if I am not very technical?

That is completely fine. The goal is to make the process simple. If needed, I can walk you through each step by phone or text so you know exactly what to click.

Can remote support remove viruses?

Some malware-related issues can be addressed remotely, but it depends on how badly the system is affected. If the computer is too unstable, a full in-person cleanup may be the better choice.

How do I know whether remote help is the right choice?

If the problem is software-related and the computer can still boot normally and connect to the internet, remote support is often a good option. If not, in-person service may make more sense.
